Dementia: Disease or syndrome?

It is a syndrome, usually of a chronic or progressive nature, caused by a variety of brain illnesses that affect memory, thinking, behavior and ability to perform everyday activities.

Dementia is overwhelming not only for the people who have it, but also for their caregivers and families. An "umbrella" term used to describe a range of symptoms associated with cognitive impairment.

Why Dementia is important!

Dementia is a major cause of disability and dependency among older adults worldwide. Although consciousness remains intact, cognitive function declines beyond typical aging effects. Early signs include memory lapses, confusion, and difficulties in problem-solving, often accompanied by changes in mood and behavior.
